The 1957 prototype for the Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider is going to auction at Pebble Beach with an estimate of $7.5-9 million (£5.2-6.6 million).
This car was used in early launch photographs for the 250 GT California and it was then delivered new to amateur racer George Arents.
It was reunited with its original engine in 2004 and a concours restoration was carried out between 2012 and 2016. The car subsequently won Best in Class at Pebble Beach, Amelia Island and the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Rosso 70 Concours in Maranello, Italy.
There is also some early period competition history for this car, including a win at the 1961 Puerto Rico Festival with Rafael Rosales driving.
