Bicester Motion has confirmed that Hangar 79 will be sensitively demolished following the tragic fire on 15 May.
The hangar sustained significant damage and following discussion with Historic England, Cherwell District Council, and teams of experts in health and safety as well as structural professionals, it has been agreed to take down the remaining structure.
A specialist contractor has been appointed after Cherwell District Council issued a demolition notice. The contractor has been selected based on their experience and capability to carry out the work sensitively and with minimal disruption to other businesses based at Bicester Motion.
The work will begin on Wednesday 6 August and is expected to take four months to complete.
