First Lotus Eclat going to auction

The first production Lotus Eclat is due to be sold at auction by H&H at its sale on Wednesday 30 July.

A Lotus Certificate of Provenance accompanies the car, which is the first of 15 made with a vertical rear bulkhead, larger boot, and smaller rear seats.

The car was sold new by Bell & Colvill in November 1975, and it was rescued from a garden in Essex in 2018 by specialist Lotusbits. A complete restoration followed and the car has covered only 101 miles since completion.

This Eclat is now officially recognised as the first production model and comes with estimate of £14,000-£18,000.
