The Volkswagen Polo has been named as the Best Car of the Half Century by the Best Cars of the Year – The New Car World Championships.
A diverse panel of judges gave the Polo the honour as the supermini reaches its 50th anniversary.
The Polo has sold more than 20 million units since it was launched in 1975.
