Sheene and Schwantz race bikes Rewind to Scotland

Iconic racing motorcycles ridden by Barry Sheene and Kevin Schwantz are heading to Knockhill Rewind over the weekend of 30-31 August.

More than 100 classic motorcycle race bikes will be at the show held at the Fife track, including Sheene’s Heron Suzuki XR27 and Schwantz’s Lucky Strike Suzuki XR84 Grand Prix machine.

Other bikes taking part in the event include a Modenas KR3 V3 used by Anthony Gobert and Luca Cadalora, a Proton KR5 V5 ridden by Kurtis Roberts, a 1993 Honda RS250 used by Ian McConnachie, and the 1959 350 Potts Manx Norton that won that year’s 350 North West 200 ridden by Alistair King.

There will also be several big names from motorcycle racing such as Niall Mackenzie, John McGuinness, and Rory Skinner. The show includes demonstration laps and a 50-lap endurance race.

Stuart Gray, Chairman of the Knockhill Motor Sports Club, said: ‘The Rewind Classic Festival will become an annual event as we invite back to Knockhill all the champions from the last 50 years, as well iconic bikes from both the Scottish racing scene, British championships, TT bikes and world championships race bikes. It is going to be another special event for bike race fans. The event will have nonstop action across every corner.’
