Eagle E-Types has created its most extreme car to date with the Lightweight GTR.
By carefully pruning weight from every possible component, the Eagle Lightweight GTR tips the scales at just 930kg to be the company’s ultimate road-going evolution of the original Jaguar model.
The GTR weighs more than 30% less than a standard E-type Roadster despite the GTR including additional stiffening and bracing to improve its handling.
Lightweight materials such as aluminium, magnesium, titanium, Inconel, carbon and lithium have been incorporated into the build, which was commissioned by a client as a one-off creation.
The GTR also comes with carbon ceramic brakes and Öhlins dampers to reduce unsprung weight and provide a compliant ride.
Power for the GTR comes from a 4.7-litre straight-six made in aluminium by Eagle to be similar to the original XK engine. However, power is hiked to give more than 430bhp-per-ton with wide-angle head, titanium con-rods, and triple Weber carburettors.
The interior is trimmed in black Alcantara and comes with aluminium seats in a period correct style.
The cabin also has heated glass, air conditioning, and improved heat and sound insulation, while the switches feature mother of pearl inlays.
Paul Brace of Eagle E-Types said: ‘The owner of the Lightweight GTR came with carefully-considered ideas and considerable passion for the project. It has been an absolute joy to work with him and to help realise his vision in such a successful way.
‘Not only has he achieved his automotive dream, but he has enabled us to push the envelope of what is possible. We are immensely proud of the result.’
