RM Sotheby’s London sale tops £23 million

RM Sotheby’s London sale on Saturday 1 December fetched a total of more than £23 million.

Top seller on the day was a 2015 Ferrera FXX-K Evo that achieved £4,730,000, followed by an 1937 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Spider that sold for £2,817,500.

Helping RM Sotheby’s hit a sale total of £23,703,910 were two hypercars – a 2024 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé  that reached £2,226,875 and a 2015 McLaren P1 GTR that made £1,310,000 when the hammer fell.

Post-war machinery was also much in evidence with a 1954 Maserati A6GCS, a five-time Mille Miglia participant, selling for £1,748,750. A Lamborghini Miura P400 built in 1968 made £1,298,750, while a 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback saloon hit £511,250.

Another big ticket item was the registration ‘1F’ that sold for £905,000.

Out of 72 lots in the sale, 58 were sold on the day to give an 81% sale rate.
