The Royal Automobile Club’s 2025 Historic Awards have been announced with motorcycling legend Sammy Miller MBE being given the Lifetime Achievement award.
Sammy’s global success in multiple motorcycle disciplines includes an astonishing 1482 Trials event victories, 11 successive British Trials Championships, five Scottish Six Day Trial titles, the Irish Motocross Championship title and numerous Irish road racing victories. He also runs his famous museum that is home to more than 500 rare motorcycles.
The Young Achiever trophy went to Samantha Ruff, a trimmer with Harry Fraser Vehicle Upholstery, following in the footsteps of her sister Cat who lifted this award in 2024.
Personal Endeavour was giving to vintage motorsport stalwart, the late Julian Grimwade, while the Innovation category was won by Equipe Super Sprint.
The Competitive Event award was won by Knockhill Circuit for its superb McRae Rally Festival, and Motoring Spectacle was awarded to Salon Privé for its 20th edition concours.
For the Museums & Collections award, the British Motor Museum emerged as the victor, while the Restoration winner was named as the 1924 Hispano-Suiza H6C Boulogne owned by Somin Kidston and restored by Jonathon Wood Ltd.
Lastly, the Outstanding Journalism category was won by Dan Cogger for his Lucky Number 13 article published in The Automobile about the untold story of a Jaguar C-type.
