One of Ayrton Senna’s most famous Grand Prix cars is up for auction as his 1986 Lotus 98T goes to sealed bids.
The car has an estimate of $9.5-$12 million (£7-£8.9 million) when bidding opens on Wednesday 4 March.
Finished in the John Player Special livery, this Lotus 98T is the car Senna drove to victory in the 1986 Spanish and United States Grands Prix.
Senna used this car eight times during the 1986 season, achieving five pole positions and three further podium places.
The car is one of only four 98T chassis built by Lotus to contest the 1986 Formula 1 season and this car was sold by the factory into private ownership.
It has an unbroken history since then and has been in some of the most respected collections in the world.
It has recently been restored by Paul Lanzante Ltd and is in immaculate condition ready for immediate use on track.
