Carless Classic Fuels becomes HRDC sole supplier

The Historic Racing Drivers Club has appointed Carless Classic Fuels as its sole fuel supplier.

The deal will run from 2026 to 2028 and use Carless’ ethanol-free and heritage-compliant fuels in all car competing, with trackside refuelling provided by Vital Equipment UK.

Julius Thurgood, Race Director of the HRDC, said: ‘In recent years, the ongoing development of race engines and the quest for cleaner power has witnessed a proliferation of specialist race fuels coming into the historic marketplace, especially those being marketed as sustainable. What was not so evident was the knowledge of how to properly apply this technology to a diverse range of engine specifications.

‘Working with Carless Classic Fuels and having Vital Equipment’s vast on-track knowledge at hand, has eliminated such uncertainties with a clear and concise working practice. The HRDC now has partners that can deliver an optimum product range with an informed and reliable service that affords our competitors the freedom to enjoy their racing.’

Adrian Stuart, Head of Performance Fuels Sales at Haltermann Carless, added: ‘We are delighted to be appointed as the sole fuel supplier to the Historic Racing Drivers Club for the 2026 to 2028 seasons. Having launched Carless Classic Fuels just 13 months ago, it is hugely rewarding to see how quickly the range has progressed and earned the trust of the historic motorsport community.

‘Partnering with the HRDC is a fantastic example of that momentum in action. Our fuels are developed specifically for historic vehicles, giving competitors the confidence of consistent performance while protecting valuable engines and preserving authentic driving experiences.’
