The Rolls-Royce Corniche has been remastered by British firm Halcyon to create is Great Eight Series.
This is the first combustion-engined model from Halcyon and has a reworked 6.75-litre V8 to give it more power, torque and responsiveness.
Following Rolls-Royce’s lead, Halcyon says the engine has ‘adequate’ power, and it’s rebuild is part of the 5000-hour process of reworking the Corniche coupé.
The first car in the series is finished in Arboretum Green with a tan leather interior and comes with adaptive suspension, improved braking and other discreet upgrades to make it more suited to modern driving conditions.
Only 60 Great Eight Series cars will be produced at the company’s base in the Surrey Hills and each costs from £425,000 plus the donor vehicle.
The company will build 30 cars based on the Corniche Drophead Coupe, 20 using the Coupé, and a further 10 based on the Silver Shadow and Bentley T Series saloon.
Matthew Pearson, Co-Founder and CEO of Halcyon, said: ‘We set out to create the best versions of these cars for today, and The Great Eight Series builds on our philosophy through a distinctly mechanical experience.
‘The L-Series V8 is one of the great engines of its time, loved for the way it made a car feel and for the effortless way it delivered its performance. We’ve taken that character and elevated it, refining both its performance and the way it delivers it. Alongside our electric interpretation, it offers a distinct expression of the same Halcyon standard, defined by mechanical character and a true sense of occasion.’
