The centenary celebrations of Britain’s first Grand Prix that took place at Brooklands in 1926 will see a number of important McLaren Racing cars taking part.
Among the McLaren Formula 1 cars that will be there on Saturday 8 August will be the M23 that James Hunt and Emerson Fittipaldi used to take the team’s first titles in 1974 and 1976.
Ayrton Senna’s MP4/6 will also be present and this will be the exact car that Senna used to win the 1991 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka to take that year’s title.
Completing the McLaren line-up are the latest hybrid cars.
Alex Patterson, Chief Executive of Brooklands Museum, said: ‘As the reigning World Champions, the team’s presence perfectly represents where the sport stands today – exactly 100 years on from Britain’s very first Grand Prix, held here at Brooklands in 1926.’
