Martin Brundle’s Senna duel Ralt F3 car goes to auction

The Ralt RT3/83 that Martin Brundle drove during his epic 1983 title battle with Ayrton Senna is coming to sale with Iconic Auctioneers on Friday 24 July.

Estimated at £40,000-£50,000, this is a chance to buy a piece of motorsport history as Brundle and Senna battled for the 1983 Formula 3 title.

Run by Eddie Jordan, chassis #375 was driven by Brundle at the final round of the season to decide who won the title, with the British driver going into the race with a one-point lead.

Senna took the chequered flag to win the race and the championship, but both drivers went on to compete in Formula 1 the following season – Brundle going to Tyrrell and Senna to Toleman.

The Ralt comes to sale in period correct Sieger colours and wearing the number 2.

It has been raced recently in the FIA Historic F3 Cup and the vendor has had the car maintained by GBR Stratton Motorsport based at the Knockhill Circuit.

Brundle was reunited with the car at the 2025 British Grand Prix as part of a parade to commemorate Eddie Jordan’s motorsport career.

Sold with a selection of spares, Lionel Abbott, Car Specialist at Iconic Auctioneers, said: ‘This Ralt is a rare chance to buy a race car with a direct link to one of the great Formula 3 title fights.

‘It carries the Brundle, Senna and Eddie Jordan story in a way no other car can, yet it remains highly competitive, well prepared and eligible for historic competition. We feel incredibly fortunate to be able to represent the owner and their evocative Ralt at Silverstone in July.’
