World’s Smallest Car Auction to be held at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The World’s Smallest Car Auction will be held at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that runs from 9-12 July.

Run by Bonhams, the aim is to encourage and inform young enthusiasts about the world of classic cars with an auction of scale models.

The live charity auction will run twice daily throughout the Festival of Speed and include cars such as a scale model of the Aston Martin DB5.

Julie David, Global Managing Director of Bonhams Car, Motorcycle and Automobilia department, said: “Bonhams has been a proud partner of all Goodwood’s Motorsport events, almost since their inception, and we’ve sold some of the world’s most famous and collectable motor cars at Goodwood’s Bonhams auctions. This year, we’ll continue in that proud tradition, but in miniature, auctioning scale models of some of the most iconic cars ever sold by Bonhams.

Alongside the model cars, Bonhams will also preview a 1925 Bugatti Type 35C that is due to be sold at the company’s Goodwood Revival auction in September. The Type 35C has a pre-sale estimate of £500,00o-£700,000 and will be displayed next to a 1936 Aston Martin 2-litre Speed Competition model with an estimate of £500,000-£600,000.
