A 1949 Frazer Nash High Speed Competition is set to be sold by Gooding Christie’s at its Paris Rétromobile sale in February 2027.
Registered TMX 545, the Frazer Nash achieved third place in the 1949 Le Mans 24 Hours, which then gave its name to subsequent cars of the same model from Frazer Nash.
Owned by just tow families in the past 80 years, this important car has been with its current family owners since 1959.
It was first owner by motorcycle racer Norman Cuplan, who also competed in the car at Silverstone, the Isle of Man, and the Tourist Trophy at Dundrod.
James Knight, Gooding Christie’s Senior Specialist, commented: ‘Rarely does such an historic British sports racing car come to market that can boast credentials as third place Le Mans, two owners from new, impeccable provenance and the added cachet of being the car that gave the Le Mans Replica its name.
‘TMX comes to market publicly for the first time ever and, in my opinion, is the most historically important Frazer Nash extant.’
