One of 10 BMW M1 AHG Studie heads to auction

One of only 10 BMW M1s custom built by German dealer AHG is being sold by RM Sotheby’s at its Munich auction on Friday 20 November.

Created by AHG after the end of the M1 Procar Championship, the roadgoing cars were given race-style bodywork that included Procar front and rear spoilers, side skirts, and flared wheelarches.

The straight-six engine was tuned to 350bhp and used a race-spec clutch, as well as an uprated exhaust.

There was also upgraded suspension and 16-inch BBS three-piece alloy wheels.

The interior was also given the AHG treatment with leather inserts, improved stereo system and racing belts.

This car is thought to have been the personal M1 of AHG boss Peter Gartemann and is finished in a bespoke blue livery.

The AHG-converted cars passed the notoriously strict TÜV inspection and were registered as an AHG model rather than a BMW.

This AHG M1 is being offered without reserve and is expected to fetch between £330,000 and £420,000.
