Royally connected Jaguar MkIX heads to auction

A Jaguar MkIX used by the Princess of Wales and her children to attend the wedding of Pippa Middleton is due to be sold at auction by H&H Classics on Wednesday 10 September.

The 1960 Jaguar saloon is estimated at £30,000-£35,000 and is finished in Warwick Grey with red leather upholstery and walnut trim.

With only 31,000 miles from new, the Jaguar MkIX is said to be in excellent condition and has had £6000 spent on its mechanicals.

Only 10,009 Mk IXs were built before the model was replaced by the Mk X in 1961, making this low-mileage, well-presented, and royally connected example especially desirable.

Oliver Fernyhough-Martin, junior motor car specialist at H&H Classics, said: ‘The MkIX’s royal wedding connection only adds to the story, but it’s also the condition, originality and low mileage that make this such a compelling example in its own right.’
