Toyota Gazoo Racing is remanufacturing engine blocks and cylinder heads for its 4A-GE engine used in the company’s much-loved AE86 Corolla.
The new block and head are not simply remade components but updated to include improved combustion chambers thanks to better machining. There are also polished intakes, while thicker intake and exhaust port walls are part of the new engine offer.
A new alloy is used for the cast engine block for increased rigidity and there are upgraded crankshaft caps for better reliability.
The new 4A-GE engine and cylinder heads are the largest components now offered by Toyota’s GR Heritage Parts and they will be officially unveiled at Fuji Speedway in Japan on 13 September.
