Lamborghini’s final concept car before the Italian firm was bought by Audi is coming to auction with Broad Arrow at its Zoute Grand Prix sale on Friday 10 October.
The Pregunta is widely considered as the last concept built on a Lamborghini platform as it uses a Diablo for its base with bodywork by French coachbuilder Heuliez.
Shown at the 1998 Paris Motor Show, the car was commissioned while Lamborghini was under Chrysler ownership. It was styled by Marc Deschamps at Heuliez and has carbon fibre bodywork.
Inspired by fighter jets, the Pregunta’s cabin has glass screens, fibre-optic lighting, and an Formula 1-derived digital instrument panel.
The Diablo platform was converted from four- to rear-wheel drive for the Pregunta and it’s 5.7-litre V12 engine produces 530bhp to deliver 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 209mph.
Gregory Tuytens, Head of Consignments in Belgium and the Netherlands for Broad Arrow, said: ‘Not only is the Pregunta an incredible piece of supercar history, being able to offer this unique concept fresh from its time on display in the Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata, further enhances its desirability.’
The Lamborghini Pregunta has an auction estimate of €2.5-€3.5 million (£2.15-£3 million).
