Auction firm Artcurial reports a notable 97% sale rate for its Automobile Museum of Château de Vernon sale.
More than €3 million (£2.61 million) was raised from the sale of 90 vehicles, including a 1923 Bentley 3 Litre Tourer with Harrisson & Sons body, a 1959 Maserati 3500 GT, and Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS.
Other highlights of the sale were a 1926 Lorraine-Dietrich B3-6 Berline Weyman and a 1923 Cheynard et Walcker 3 Litres Sport. There were also several lots of automobilia.
Commenting on the sale held within the chateau’s grounds in the Vienne region, Matthieu Lamoure, President of Artcurial Motorcars, said: ‘It is a tremendous success, not only for such a dynamic sale but also for the exhibition of the vehicles, which attracted no fewer than 5000 visitors over three days — proof of the ever-growing passion for this rolling heritage that classic cars represent.’
