A c1904 Opel Darracq is set to make its debut appearance on the RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run after being discovered in the basement of a German university.
The car was found in 1960 by the father of the current owner after it was hidden in the basement of the Hannover Technical University where it had lain since before the Second World War.
The car was renovated and used for decades before a full restoration was carried out in 2022 back to its original specification.
The car will now be used on the Veteran Car Run for this first time, which takes place on Sunday 2 November.
