Ferrari and FIVA collaborate on vehicle identity

Ferrari Classiche and FIVA (Federation Internationale Vehicules Anciens) have announced they are to collaborate on shared identification of classic cars.

Using their joint expertise, FIVA and Ferrari Classiche provides a guarantee of authenticity for buyers, owners, and event organisers of a car’s provenance. Any car receiving Ferrari’s Certificate of Authenticity will automatically be eligible for the FIVA Identity Card.

Required for participation in a number of classic car events worldwide, the FIVA ID Card is further evidence of a car’s historical originality, and obtaining the Ferrari Classiche Certificate of Authenticity will now serve as proof that a car also respects the technical inspection required by the FIVA Technical Code.

FIVA said it welcomed the joint venture with Ferrari Classiche as it demonstrates a shared commitment to preserving and protecting heritage.

Announced at the Auto e Moto d’ Epoca show, the 1957 Ferrari 250 GT on FIVA’s stand was the first car to receive the joint Ferrari Classiche certification and a FIVA ID Card.
