Nissan has launched a kit to covert the L-Series straight-six engine in its 240Z and other models to a twin-cam set-up.
The Nissan DOHC (double overhead cam) kit has been developed in-house by the Japanese firm and has the potential to push power from the engine to 300bhp and raising the red line to 7500rpm.
Home mechanics can buy the kit to use themselves, though Nissan states the kit is for those who are ‘who are well-versed in L-type engine tuning.’
The kit can be used with fuel injection or carburettors, and only 300 kits will be made available to buy in 2026.
The price for the kit is ¥3,850,000 (£19,000).
