A Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk1 that completed the gruelling Lands End to John O’ Groats rally is one of a pair of the hot hatches taking centre stage at the Bremen Classic Show from 30 January to 1 February.
The Brilliant Black Mk1 GTI will be shown still wearing the mud and patina from completing the 1500-mile, four day rally around the UK.
In contrast, there will also be a gleaming Mars Red example on display.
The Bremen Classic Show is the start of Volkswagen marking the 50th anniversary of the Golf GTI, which was launched with a fuel injected 1.6-litre engine in 1976.
VW originally intended to build just 5000 Golf GTIs, but production of the Mk1 model totalled 461,690.
