Perfectly patinated Ferrari 275 GTS makes public auction debut at Pebble Beach

A 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS that has been in single family ownership since 1981 is coming to public auction for the first time with Gooding Christie’s at its Pebble Beach sale on 14-15 August.

The convertible Ferrari has impeccable provenance and patination as it heads to sale with an estimate of $1-$1.2 million (£750,000-£1 million).

Originally sold to Italian privateer racing driver Pietro Ferraro, the car has since spent most of its life in Southern California.

A colour change from the 1966 275 GTS’s original Grigio Fumo to its current red paint is the only major deviation from its factory specification. The red leather fitted new is still in place.

Despite the colour change, the car is a full matching numbers example and has been documented by Marcel Massini.

It also comes with its factory-fitted tool roll, books, and records going back to 1978.
