The Ronald White Collection that includes the eighth Mini ever built and Stirling Moss’ MGB rally car is being sold by H&H Classics at its Kelham Hall sale on Wednesday 23 September.
Alongside the historically important early Mini are several other examples of the model, which includes a 1967 Austn Mini Cooper S Mk2 Works race car with an estimate of £70,000-£90,000. This car was driven by John Handley in the 1969 Guards Trophy at Brands Hatch in 1969, and later used by Paddy Hopkirk and Tony Nash on the 1969 Tour de France Automobile.
Also in the sale is a 1971 Mini Clubman Rallycross 4×4 built by BL Special Tuning and is the only four-wheel drive Mini made by the factory. It has an estimate of £30,000-£40,000.
Further competition Minis are a 1996 Rover Mini Works Competition, which is one of the two last Works-prepared motorsport Minis and is estimated at £60,000-£80,000. It’s joined by a 19996 Group N Mini Works rally car used by Team Rover Japan in the 1997 Monte Carlo Rally and has an estimate of £60,000-£80,000.
As well as Minis, the Ronald White Collection includes a 1963 MGB Roadster used by Stirling Moss with an estimate of £15,000-£20,000.
A 1959 Austin-Healey Sprinzel Sebring Sprite is estimated at £80,000-£100,000 and is one of only eight examples prepared by John Sprinzel. It was sold new to Chris Williams and was part of the Team Sebring entry in the 1961 Snetterton 6 Hour Relay Race.
A more modest entry is the Morris Minor 1000 from the Ronald White Collection, but it stands out for having covered just 16 miles from new and is estimated at £10,000-£20,000.
